Activate!

ACTIVATE! was created in December 2002 and is managed by the High Street Centre, working with children and young people within the Rawmarsh and Parkgate area of Rotherham.

The project operates with a mixed team of staff and volunteers

ACTIVATE! offers a wide range of activities for 4-19 year-olds to encourage their participation in positive activities that aim to aid their personal and social development in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key activities include:

• Young People’s Action Group
• ‘OUTRAGEOUS’ Children’s Club
• ‘Xplode’ Youth Club
• Guitar Lessons for Beginners
• Rock school
• Attainment Clubs with local schools
• Activities for children with disabilities
• Holiday Activities / Family Trips / Taster Sessions

Over 110 children and young people attend each week.

Over 1,500 children and young people have accessed this project so far

Renovation is currently underway to improve the heating and insulation of the centre.
