Positive Feedback From Grant Funder on Talk Cancer Project 2026
Talk Cancer Project – A Wonderful Success!
We’re delighted to share that our recent Talk Cancer project, funded by the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance, has now come to a close—and what a success it has been!
From start to finish, the project has made a real difference, with fantastic volunteer involvement and meaningful impact across our community. We are incredibly proud of everything that has been achieved.
A huge thank you goes to our dedicated staff and amazing volunteers, whose passion and commitment made this project so special.
We’ve also received some truly wonderful feedback from our funder—feedback that has kept us smiling all week! It’s moments like this that remind us why we do what we do.
We are proud of the work we deliver and the difference it makes every day. 💛

Thank you very much Nicola and Team for taking the time to share your presentation for the Health Innovation Grant.
It was a pleasure to hear about the progress and impact of the High Street Rawmarsh Talk Cancer project.
Your work represents a powerful example of how meaningful change is built through trust, connection, and community.
The panel was particularly impressed by your ability to take conversations, support, and wellbeing activities directly into the heart of the community—creating spaces that feel local, informal, and accessible.
The reach you have achieved is fantastic, with over 100 people engaging through events, peer groups, and ongoing participation.
More importantly, the outcomes you’ve demonstrated are incredibly impactful; seeing that 95% of participants reported feeling less isolated highlights the genuine difference your project is making in people’s lives. Beyond the numbers, your work has clearly fostered a stronger sense of belonging, confidence, and empowerment within the community.
We also recognise the challenges involved, particularly in shifting behaviours such as screening uptake and engaging those who may feel hesitant towards anything labelled ‘cancer’. Your approach has shown that when support is delivered in trusted, community-led environments, these barriers can begin to be overcome.
The relationships you have built between volunteers, residents, and services are a real strength and provide a solid foundation for continued impact moving forward.
Once again, thank you for an excellent presentation and for the important work you are doing.
You should be very proud of what has been achieved and reflects the purpose of the Health Innovation Grant
THANK YOU – IT’S LOVELY TO BE APPRECIATED
